Flyers come out for the Firefly

Tuesday, September 16, 2008

In case you didn’t catch the comment from hlaxness on The Countdown Begins and/or missed the note in Dan Gross’s article for philly.com, Scott Hartnell and Braydon Coburn will sign autographs at Triumph Brewing Company (119 Chestnut) to benefit the Firefly Literacy Fund this Wednesday night – Sept. 17.  Their goal is to raise money to purchase books for students in West Philadelphia public schools.  It’s a great cause and should be a fun event.  So if you’re in the Philly area and have a free evening, check it out!

I have a class and won’t be able to attend.  If you do go, I encourage you to leave a comment here on the blog and let us know how it went.

In other Flyers news, Tim Panaccio is back on Hockeybuzz.com.  Great to see him return!

Just wanted to say hello. I’m a Flyers fan and am ready for the new season to start. It’s about time I explore the Flyers portion of the blogosphere too!

Hockey is maybe the most unappreciated sport in the USA. Actually, soccer probably is with hockey a close 2nd. I love it and can’t get enough of it, thanks for the info.
