Game 2: From the first intermission

Sunday, April 13, 2008

– Great PKs from the Flyers.  Good defensive positioning, active sticks, and gritty work along the boards.

– Terrific outlet pass from Coburn to Umberger on the first goal.

– Notice Hartnell giving an extra shot to Huet’s head on the goaltender interference penalty?  Yvon Pednault, legendary journalist for the Montreal Canadiens, said Wednesday that Huet can be beaten by crowding the crease area and violating his space.  Huet banged his stick on the ice after the Carter goal – he is a not a happy camper.

– The Flyers weather the first period.  They need to continue attacking the Capitals and pursuing the puck.  They also need to stay out of the box from now on to avoid fatigue.
