Game Predictions 3/29/2008

Dallas vs. Los Angeles – STARS

Montreal vs. Toronto – The Leafs will start summer early once again, but not before they face the Bleu, Blanc et Rouge.  The games are always heated, and pride increases in meaning.  – MAPLE LEAFS

Philadelphia vs. NY Islanders –  Martin Biron will get the call in net tonight.  I hope John Stevens knows what he’s doing.  With Boston gaining the shutout this afternoon, the Orange and Black need all the points they can get.

It’s a tough call.  Biron has been excellent against the Islanders this season, winning all six starts.  But he’s been terrible when playing in back-to-back situations – he lost both games in the December home-and-home with Buffalo and the March home-and-home with Toronto, losses to the Rangers and Penguins during the February slump, the March 2 loss to the Rangers after a flawless performance against the Islanders, and the disheartening 7-1 Penguins victory two weeks ago.  Biron may be the number one, but I would seriously consider going with Niittymaki.  – FLYERS

Washington vs. Florida– CAPITALS

Carolina vs. Tampa Bay – HURRICANES

Chicago vs. St. Louis – BLACKHAWKS

Edmonton vs. Calgary – Edmonton’s out but not down.  – OILERS
