Chicago vs. Columbus – BLACKHAWKS

Edmonton vs. Minnesota –  The Oilers have incredible speed and will win any time a game becomes a track meet.  That’s what happened when these teams played a few days ago.  Minnesota tried to set the pace with strong defense, but the Oilers were so fast that they could break the traps and generate scoring opportunities.  Edmonton is only three points behind Colorado and Vancouver and one behind Nashville.  – OILERS

Vancouver vs. Colorado – Roberto Luongo’s wife has been experiencing a difficult pregnancy, so she’s currently living in Florida with her family while Luongo remains with his team.  The Canucks have offered to give Luongo a week off to travel to Florida for the birth of his child.  Given the reaction of the fans calling into XM, it’s apparent that many people feel passionately that Luongo and his wife should have planned the prenancy better and that he should not be permitted to leave the team.

Frankly, we ask a lot of the players – 82 games a year, playoffs, extensive travel.  They are rewarded handsomely – I don’t contest that.  But the birth of a first child is special, and Luongo should be there with his wife.  – AVALANCHE

Los Angeles vs. Anaheim – DUCKS

Completely on board with you about the Luongo situation, I’ll be posting about it later this afternoon, so I won’t go into detail yet.
