Game Predictions 3/4/2008

Tuesday, March 4, 2008
Florida vs. Boston – Boston had a tough night in Washington, losing by a score of 10-2. They tried every momentum shift possible – two fights, a couple goaltender changes. It just wasn’t happening. I think they’ll rally tonight against Florida. – BRUINS

NY Islanders vs. NY Rangers – RANGERS

Buffalo vs. Philadelphia – This is the last meeting of the season for these two teams, and the previous 3 games have been exciting. During the home-and-home in December, Buffalo dominated the scoreboard, but the Flyers competed hard. Last Monday the Flyers battled back from Buffalo’s 3-0 lead; Danny Briere won the game in the shoot out against former teammate Ryan Miller. So tonight should be game-of-the-night worthy. – FLYERS

New Jersey vs. Toronto – Toronto is surging. The Devils are displaying their usual dominance. You tell me – who has the better odds? – DEVILS

Pittsburgh vs. Tampa Bay – The battle for the Eastern Conference and the Atlantic Division continues. Pittsburgh is near the top – a piece of real estate most felt they couldn’t reach without Crosby. If only the Devils weren’t quite so good . . . – PENGUINS

Chicago vs. Minnesota – WILD

Los Angeles vs. St. Louis – Teams outside the playoffs go to battle. Last time these teams met, the Kings were victorious, sending St. Louis on a long losing streak. Can the Blues overcome? – BLUES

Columbus vs. Calgary – FLAMES

Nashville vs. Edmonton – Nashville is probably the best underdog tale in the NHL this season, even considering the resurgence of the Capitals, the young blood in Phoenix, and the get-it-done-by-committee approach in Boston. The Predators had a yard sale over the summer, losing stars like Paul Kariya, Peter Forsberg, and Kimmo Timonen and trading goaltender Tomas Vokoun away for a pick. But Barry Trotz and his team are moving right along into the playoffs. – PREDATORS

Vancouver vs. Colorado – AVALANCHE
