ARGH!!!!
2008 April 27
Just checked out the NHL’s 3 stars for Saturday:
1. Johan Franzen – 3 goals, 0 assists
2. RJ Umberger – 2 goals, – assists
3. Martin Biron – 34 saves, 2 GA, 0.944 save percentage
HOW DOES BIRON NOT GET INTO THE TOP TWO!!!!!!!!!! DID THE NHL MARKETING DEPARTMENT EVEN WATCH THE GAMES?!?!?!?!?!?!? AAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!!
Nothing against RJ Umberger – he scored the first goal of the game and the one that put it out of Montreal’s reach. But none of that happens without the amazing play of Marty Biron.

I’m not even sure how that works. Biron was 1st star, Umberger was 3rd. How does Umberger end up as 2nd star and Biron 3rd overall? Goalies don’t get enough credit for what they do
All I know is that the NHL’s 3 star decisions are made by the league’s Marketing Department. Which is how Crosby got a mention in the top three the other week even though his only contribution was an empty-netter.
I agree, Biron was a stud. However, Franzen is in a different world right now. As an Avs fan, I hope he wakes up soon (and Peter Forsberg stops getting hurt every third day!)
